Who We Are
The people of Tanzania are custodians of all cultural heritage assets in Tanzania, and under the Antiquities Act of 1964 with its amendments of 1979, 1981 and 1991: all cultural heritage sites in Tanzania are recognized under the law and are protected by the Antiquities Department in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism.
